How to activate Windows 11 Professional
Fresh install: Download the Media Creation Tool from microsoft.com/software-download/windows11, create a bootable USB drive, boot from it and follow the on-screen steps. Enter your 25-character product key when prompted during installation.
Upgrade from Windows 10 Pro: Go to Settings → System → Activation → Change product key. Enter your Windows 11 Pro key and follow the prompts. Where system requirements are met, the upgrade proceeds and your files are generally preserved – backing up beforehand is always recommended.
Already installed but not activated: Go to Settings → System → Activation → Change product key, enter your key and follow the prompts.
Reinstalling on the same machine: You can use the same key to reactivate Windows 11 Pro on the same computer after reinstallation.
